Hannibal is a psychological thriller film that was released in 2001. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Harris, and is a sequel to the 1991 film The Silence of the Lambs. In the film, Dr. Hannibal Lecter (played by Sir Anthony Hopkins), a brilliant and psychopathic serial killer, is on the run from the FBI after escaping from custody. Meanwhile, FBI agent Clarice Starling (played by Julianne Moore) is tasked with tracking him down and bringing him to justice. The film explores the twisted relationship between Lecter and Starling, as well as the psychological game of cat and mouse that ensues between them.
